INTERVIEW WITH DIRECTOR OF LAND SURVEYING CHRISTOPHER BLAIR, PLS

Chris! Congratulations on your promotion to Director of Land Surveying!
Thanks! I am excited to step into my new role as Director of Land Surveying.

Your progression throughout your time at Greenway Engineering is impressive. Could you tell us a little about that, please?
I started at Greenway in 2011 as a survey project manager focusing on the oil and gas work in Pennsylvania and Ohio. This work led to new opportunities traveling throughout the Mid-Atlantic states working in power substations while maintaining and growing an active role in the local surveying projects. Eventually, I turned my attention back to the local markets as the economy improved. I began working on expanding the company and looking to the future by pushing our profession’s limits through new technology and applications.

Whether it is new GPS equipment, UAV, LIDAR scanning, or just finding a new use for our existing equipment, I think that variety is probably the aspect of my job that I enjoy the most. No two days are the same for me, which allows me to grow and learn from the people around me every day. Greenway Engineering has built a great team of employees who bring a wealth of knowledge from various backgrounds.

Any thoughts on what you are hoping for in 2021 at Greenway?
I think the new year is full of opportunity and growth for Greenway Engineering. I hope to grow our survey department and expand our surveying presence in the Ashburn and Martinsburg markets.
