STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
STORMWATER SERVICES
Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP’s) function not only to reduce flooding but also to protect and preserve the quality of our downstream aquatic resources. Stormwater BMP’s achieve this by slowing and controlling stormwater runoff, which in turn reduces sediment and nutrient transport, prevents streambank erosion, and recharges groundwater. As our region becomes more developed, and with federal and state regulators continuously tightening standards, effective stormwater management practices become more critical, not only with compliance but also in protecting our aquatic resources.
STORMWATER FACILITES INVENTORY & MAPPING
A successful stormwater management plan starts with a strong knowledge base of your assets and infrastructure. Greenway Engineering will utilize all available data to field locate, identify, and map all stormwater management assets to create a functional SWM database to use for future planning and record keeping.
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT FACILITIES INSPECTIONS
Your stormwater management facilities will be inspected by DEQ certified staff to help point out any deficiencies that the facility may have to keep it in compliance and functioning optimally. These inspections will also recommend preventative maintenance items that could alleviate large, costly repairs in the future.
Inspections will be performed at frequencies required by VA DEQ or as outlined in your stormwater facility maintenance agreement provided by your VSMP authority.
ACTION PLAN, MAINTENANCE, & REMEDIATION
Once inspections are complete, we can prioritize which facilities will require maintenance and remediation based on their condition outlined in the inspection report. Our trained SWM maintenance providers have the tools to get your facilities in compliance and functioning as intended.
ONGOING MAINTENANCE PLAN
Once initial inspections and maintenance are complete, we can design an annual inspections and maintenance plan that works best for compliance, functionality, and aesthetics.
