FREDERICK & SHENANDOAH COUNTIES SOILS

SERVICES IN FREDERICK & SHENANDOAH COUNTIES, VIRGINIA

Both Frederick and Shenandoah Counties are located primarily in the Shenandoah Valley. The soils in the Valley are primarily derived from sedimentary rocks, such as limestone, shale, siltstone, and sandstone. The mountainous areas in the western portion of the Counties are dominated by soils derived from sandstone and shales. The lower areas of the valley are dominated by limestone soils. Soils derived from limestone have a higher percentage chance of meeting the Health Department requirements for a conventional drainfield.

For these reasons, it is important to consider the geology of each individual parcel of land when performing soil tests, or deciding upon which areas are best for future development. In addition to Soil Evaluations, our professional staff will be able to offer advice in troubleshooting problems, recommendations for repairs, and assist with the required Alternative Onsite Sewage System (AOSS) annual inspection.
